Niners Logo

The 49ers are on a roll. They are know 2-0, which has become something big for Niners fan because they haven't been able to do that since 1998. The game against the Rams was very close (49ers, 17 & Rams, 16), but once again, the Niners' defense was able to step-it-up to win the game. Also, Frank Gore's performance was incredible, by scoring the only two touchdowns in the game. We all know those two touchdowns were dedicated to his beloved mother.

I'm not a football fan, but whenever I hear about the 49ers doing well, I'm happy for them. Weird, huh? My older brother was born and raised in San Francisco (I was born in Houston), so while I was growing up in Houston, he kept cheering on the 49ers on TV or refusing to play as any other team whenever we played a football video game. Whenever we played co-operatively, I was always rooting for Jerry Rice and Joe Montana. I usually played as Jerry Rice since my nickname is Jerry, too. Haha. Of course, whenever I was playing as the Chicago Bears, and my brother would kick my ass as the Niners, I'd be cursing "FREAKIN' JERRY RICE! DIEEEEE!" Haha.

I just read on Wikipedia that Rice retired as a 49er player after signing a one-day contract. I think that's cool. He'll always be a Niner in my mind, and I guess history will remember him that way too.

Finally good to see the Niners winning again, albeit, close, ugly and probably very lucky. A win is a win, and its something the Niners faithful (including me!) have been waiting for so long. Check out the Chronicle's Niners blog. Can they keep it up against Pittsburgh...

I wish I understood sports more, because then maybe I would be more interested and follow them. I just have never really been into organized team sports, but I do respect it and I still love going to games (I haven't been in years!). This is football season, so it's definitely an appropriate time for you to take this class for your blog! And I think that Alex Smith player is pretty good looking.

Ok, Niners fan. I'm very happy for you. But not as happy as I am that my Lions are 2-0!!! Who would have thought that the 49ers AND the Lions would be undefeated! Certainly not anyone else who commented here, but I have a feeling that you and I both did. Since I've lived in the Bay Area for about 5 years I've also sort of adopted the 49ers and the Raiders as my "other" teams. If the Lions were my kid, the Niners would be, like, my nephew. I went to the Lions/Raiders game last week and that was a lot of fun. The Raiders are really, really, bad. I was really happy for Frank Gore last week, too. I hope Momma Gore felt the energy he threw out there for her. It got me a little choked up. So, good luck with the rest of the season, too bad we don't play each other this year.

P.S. Alex Smith has tiny hands.

I've always had an interest in that weird news stuff, and I always see people do strange things that make no sense everywhere.

And, we'll see the Lions...NFC Championship game right?!!!

Looking pretty good -- a bit on the short side, though; I'd like to see more writing in future posts! Aim for at least 3 paragraphs of that length, and even more if you're inspired.

A couple of bugs to fix:

"they are know" (typo; use "now")

"something big for Niners fans" (make "fan" plural)

Oops, also meant to mention: in your sidebar, change "Blog Role" to "Blog Roll" and "Beca" to "BECA"! : )
